The Virudhunagar TWAD Project is a major infrastructure initiative designed to upgrade and expand the existing water supply system across key habitations in Virudhunagar District. The project focuses on ensuring uninterrupted access to safe drinking water through robust pipelines, efficient pumping systems, and advanced infrastructure components.
Construction of Infiltration Wells to enhance groundwater recharge and water sourcing.
Construction of Collection Sumps with various capacities for efficient storage and regulation.
Pumping Main (DI Pipelines) installation to transport water from source to distribution points.
Feeder Main (HDPE Pipelines) supply and laying to extend water coverage to remote habitations.
Underground Electrical Cabling for power supply to pumping stations and control systems.
Valve Fixing and Anchoring Works for improved operational safety and flow control.
Erection of HSC & Submersible Motors to support continuous pumping operations.
Construction of Pipe Carrying Bridge (PCB) for secure pipeline crossing over canals or obstacles.
Supply and Erection of HOT (Hand Operated Traveling) Crane for equipment handling and maintenance.
To ensure equitable and continuous drinking water supply across Virudhunagar habitations.
To strengthen existing CWSS (Combined Water Supply Scheme) infrastructure.
To deliver sustainable water management through modern construction and technology integration.
